Julio was an amazing driver! He knew the short cuts to get us to the airport hours early. He brought us to get ice cream, souvenirs, and to see a butterfly garden. ***** 5/5 Stars We used Can’t Wait Travel for our airport transfers in Costa Rica and couldn’t have been happier with the service. Our flight arrived close to midnight, and it was incredibly reassuring to have a driver waiting for us in a country we had never visited before. Before our trip, Jorge provided us with the names of our drivers, so we knew exactly who would be picking us up. When we arrived at the airport, our driver was easy to find, holding a sign with my name on it, which made the arrival process completely stress-free. The driver greeted us promptly, helped us get settled, offered complimentary water, and provided free Wi-Fi for the three-hour drive to our hotel. Since it was dark outside, the Wi-Fi was especially appreciated and helped make the long drive much more comfortable. When we arrived at our resort, the driver took us directly to reception and even spoke with security for us to ensure everything went smoothly. For our return trip, we needed to leave for the airport at 6:30 a.m. Our driver arrived early and was ready to go. Once again, we were offered water and free Wi-Fi, and the drive was comfortable and stress-free. Along the way, we passed the famous Crocodile Bridge, and the driver kindly offered to stop so we could take photos. We were tired and chose not to, but we really appreciated the thoughtfulness. Communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. While planning our trip, Jorge was always quick to respond, answered all of our questions, and made sure we knew exactly what to expect every step of the way. The drivers were professional, friendly, and made us feel safe and well taken care of from start to finish. From the personalized airport pickup to the excellent communication and reliable service, every detail was handled professionally. Absolutely the best transportation company I have used in my many years of travel domestically or internationally. Very punctual on timing and since I tend to book my trips well in advance they keep communication on-going even with an email the day before of the pickup to remind me and reconfirm all the details. Each driver has been very friendly and accommodating any need to restrooms stops or just stretching .Each driver has a genuine concern for your well being and experience on the trip. Today our phenomenon driver Julio found out we haven’t seen any toucans and made it a point to find some among other wildlife . He even brought out his telescope!!! My family is very happy! PURA VIDA!!

Which route does the driver take from SJO to La Fortuna?

There are two main routes: (1) Via Route 702 through San Ramón - slightly longer but smoother roads, often used during heavy traffic or rainy season; (2) Via Vara Blanca passing Poás Volcano - more scenic with mountain views, used in good weather and lighter traffic. Our drivers choose the best route based on real-time traffic conditions, road status, and weather. Both routes take approximately 2.5-3 hours.

Can I book a shuttle if my flight arrives at night?

How long does immigration take at SJO Airport?

Immigration at Juan Santamaría Airport typically takes 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on flight arrivals and time of day. Peak times (multiple international flights landing) can take longer. We recommend booking your pickup 90 minutes after landing. We monitor your flight in real-time, so if you clear faster, just WhatsApp us and we will have your driver ready.

What is the difference between Can't Wait Travel and shared shuttles like Interbus?

With Can't Wait Travel you get a 100% private service: the van is exclusively for your group, you choose your pickup time, and we go door-to-door (hotel, Airbnb, airport). Shared shuttles like Interbus operate on fixed schedules (usually 8am or 2pm), make 4-6 stops to pick up other passengers, and only stop at major hotels. For 4+ travelers, our private service often costs the same or less per person than shared options.

What if I am traveling with surfboards or extra luggage?

Standard luggage allowance is 1 large suitcase + 1 carry-on per person. For surfboards, golf clubs, or extra luggage, please mention it when booking so we can assign the right vehicle. Surfboards up to 7ft usually fit in our vans at no extra charge. For oversized boards or large groups with lots of gear, we may need to arrange a larger vehicle (subject to availability and pricing).
