Google says 3-3.5 hours. Plan for 4. The dirt road out of Monteverde eats up 45 minutes, then you hit the Interamericana heading north. After Cañas it's flat and fast to Liberia, then the turn to Tamarindo adds 45 minutes. Overall not bad.
